Spring is Here!
Kindergarten students have been enjoying the spring flowers this 9 weeks. They have created collage flowers to honor the beautiful blooming happening outside. Each student made their own background paper by using a stamping technique. In addition to that, they made their own colorful papers with texture to cut their flowers from. Wow! Handmade papers and beautiful designs to boot!

Dr. Seuss Time!
Kindergartners are learning about the art of Dr. Seuss. They are going to be creating a mixed media work of art. The students are going to begin by making characters in the style of Dr. Seuss and then creating a large setting for their characters to visit. Stay tuned for more updates on the process. For now, here are some of the characters that they've started.

An Exploration in Texture
Paul Klee and Geometric Shape Characters
In Kindergarten, we looked at artwork by the Swiss artists, Paul Klee. We are also working really hard on our geometric shapes. Our projects this 9 weeks will be to create an original character by using only geometric shapes.

Here are a few practice sketches for their characters. The one made by K. is a final drawing. We'll be learning some painting techniques soon.
